BPMA offers two mentorship tracks: 1) The Aspiring and Job Seeking track for those seeking to transition into a product role, and 2) the One-to-One track for active product professionals seeking career development support. Enhance your career as a mentee or give back as a mentor
Aspiring and Job Seeking Track
This track is for aspiring product professionals. Join this program to:
Get advice on moving into a Product field or finding your next job
Hear different perspectives about Product jobs and how to prepare for and position yourself for one
Attend group coaching events and meet 1-on-1 or in small groups with experienced Product professionals

Resources for learning and networking
Tuning your resume for a Product job
Preparing for a Product interview
Crafting your elevator pitch to tell a Product-focused story

One-to-One Mentoring Track
This track is a 6-month engagement restricted to current Product Managers, Product Marketing Managers, or mid-level product professionals seeking advice and support in doing their jobs better. As of September 24, 2023 we are accepting mentor and mentee candidates for the Fall, 2023 mentorship matching period. Please click the red button above to apply! Join this program to:
Engage regularly with a counterpart matched to suit your needs and experience
Get ideas on effective tools and techniques
Discuss how to handle challenging situations
Ways mentors can help mentees
Provide feedback on documentation, email content, communication
Offer advice and resources for key product topics like roadmapping, customer engagement, messaging and more
Share ideas for dealing with executives and other difficult stakeholders
Give outside perspective on workplace politics
Help shape career development goals
Mentee responsibilities
Drive your mentorship: You own scheduling the meetings and setting the agenda
Use your Mentor’s experience: Meet with your mentor once a month and/or when you need help with something specific
Prepare for the discussions: Bring questions to get the most out of each meeting
Mentee eligibility
Mentees must be currently employed as a product management or product marketing professional. Must be paid BPMA members. The one-on-one program is not open to students, student members, or other aspiring product professionals.
Mentor responsibilities
Make time for the mentee and be fully present during monthly meetings
Help the mentee to develop goals and to think outside the box
Use your position to be an active sponsor
Mentor eligibility
Mentors must be a manager/principal level product professional or higher with at least 7 years of product experience. For those with less experience who wish to mentor, we recommend joining the Aspiring and Job Seeking track events as an informal mentor. Mentors receive BPMA membership at no cost for the duration of their Mentoring as thanks.
