A new career path and a great door into the field

Traditionally the functions that deliver applications to the rest of the company, such as IT, have relied on the role of “Business Analyst” as a proxy for what a product manager would typically do for a customer-facing offering. In recent years as these applications have become more complex companies are starting to recognize the need to hire for full product management skill sets to ensure the successful development and delivery of these offerings. This provides not only a new potential career path for product managers but also a new way for those looking to break into the field to find a first role.

Our discussion will be led by Justin Donlon, VP Process Innovation and Analytics at CarGurus, and Kimberly Menapace, Sr. Product Manager at CarGurus. We’ll examine how CarGurus and other companies have started to approach product management of internal applications and talk through some specific examples and how this new approach has improved delivery.
